Ilford Town Centre, London – Value: £20m (Client: Discovery Properties / Architect: EMA Architects)

This project involved the development of new retail, commercial and leisure facilities in a busy town centre.  The development site is bound on all four sides by public highways and other public facilities including the local bus terminus.  It is also bisected by a main public road which remained active throughout the construction works.  The development is integrated with the adjacent multi-storey public car park.  This provides pedestrian access to all parts of the site via an elevated storey public car park.  The buildings include an elevated cinema built over commercial and retail units, and a hotel building elevated over a three-storey leisure complex.  The leisure complex includes a five metre deep reclaimed basement.
